About Tyler

Fifteen years of learning quickly, building from scratch, and delivering when it counts.

I have never followed a perfectly straight career path. That is one of my strengths. Every wedding, internship, livestream, course, product shoot, podcast, documentary, and YouTube channel has added another layer to what I can bring to the next project. Along the way, my wife Ashley and I have been raising our four young kids. Outside work and family life, I’m usually trying to find time for a round of golf. I love the challenge and the feeling that there’s always something to improve.

Tyler Herrinton

The throughline

I’ve built my career by earning the next opportunity.

I see what a project needs, learn what I do not yet know, arrive prepared, and take responsibility for making the work successful. That pattern has taken me from photographing my first wedding as a college student to building channels, formats, and production systems watched by millions.

A foundation in photography & design

My background includes years of professional wedding, product, and portrait photography. That experience shapes how I light and compose a scene—and how I create images for YouTube. Studying graphic design also gave me a foundation in typography, layout, and color that I use throughout my work.

2010 - 2014

Learning by doing

I started photographing weddings while I was still in college, balancing client work with graphic design school and creative-team roles at churches in Virginia and West Virginia. Those teams gave me early experience across video, design, live production, projection, installations, and adapting creative work for screens, print, web, and social.

2014 - 2023

Building a creative business

Ashley and I grew The Herrintons from a college side project into a full-time, high-end photography and filmmaking business. At our peak, we photographed and filmed 25 to 30 weddings a year and traveled internationally for weddings, conferences, and other projects. I focused primarily on the creative and production work while Ashley led much of the scheduling, client communication, and administration.

2019 - 2025

Expanding into recurring content

I expanded into YouTube channels, podcasts, online courses, and commercial production. Some clients needed a focused editor or camera operator. Others trusted me with the entire content system. At times I managed five or six recurring clients at once, each with its own schedule, meetings, review process, and publishing deadlines.

2025 - present

YouTube golf at a larger scale

I prepared intensively for my first golf production, Desert Slashers, then used that work to earn opportunities with Matt Scharff and Good Good. Today I combine channel strategy, solo production, collaborative editing, graphics, packaging, and high-end finishing for some of the most recognizable names in YouTube golf.

What fifteen years adds up to

Every project brings the whole background with it.

Creative direction

Concepts, formats, interviews, talent direction, visual language, and story development.

Production

Solo shoots, multicamera teams, live environments, travel, lighting, audio, timecode, and media management.

Post-production

Long-form and short-form editing, graphics, animation, color, audio finishing, and collaborative review.

Business context

Channel strategy, packaging, publishing, analytics, course sales, ecommerce, client trust, and audience growth.

Systems

Repeatable studios, file structures, templates, production calendars, remote workflows, and reliable weekly delivery.

Teaching and leadership

Workshops, conference speaking, consulting, editor management, feedback, and helping people perform naturally on camera.

What I bring now

I can see the whole production system without losing the details that make the work good.

I am comfortable in the strategy conversation, behind the camera, inside the edit, reviewing a collaborator’s work, or solving the technical problem no one expected. I am looking for senior-level work where that combination can help a creator, media company, or production team build something people choose to watch.
